NEW CLUTCH JAN 20*MOT 19/01/21, Just serviced January 2020, MOT 19/01/2021, Panoramic roof,Leather upholstery, So why is this car £500 above the price of the competition, This car unfortunately immediately after purchase from one of our partner garages suffered water loss leading to engine failure, This in turn it appears warped the Head, This required a replacement engine, Rather than go used we purchased a reconditioned engine, The reconditioning process was extremely comprehensive involving balancing the crank shaft, Grinding the crankshaft and new shells, Cleaning / blasting all water and oil passages, Cleaning all engine internals, New gaskets all around, re grinding the cylinders and putting new piston rings in, New cylinder head gasket, The cylinder head was reconditioned ( not the original warped one) to have all the oil seals replaced, The valves re seated and the head skimmed for a perfect fit to the black, While the engine was out and separated from the gearbox we took the decision to replace the clutch, Clutch plate and thrust bearing, This was not actually needed it was just Good practice as it was free labour as it was easily accessible to change, In total this bill came to just over £2000 as a trade price meaning its closer to £2700 retail private person money, The garage was able to identify that the component that was at fault was a Thermostat housing that had not been correctly fitted and was leaking from a silicone repair that was so badly done it was doomed to fail at some point, We have replaced it with a branded Peugeot replacement and have the original for inspection for the new owner, So basically new engine and clutch, All new fluids to cooling, Engine and gearbox, This was not a cheap fix and it was done by engine rebuild specialists, We have documented invoice and paperwork evidences of all these works and it has a 12m warranty on it for your own piece of mind, It even needs running in service at 1500 miles,[3]
